Interdisciplinary early intervention in Landsberg/Germany

Children with physical or mental disabilities should be supported as early as possible in order to compensate for deficits and promote the best possible development. SOS Children's Villages' interdisciplinary early intervention center in Landsberg is an important point of contact for parents of children with specific difficulties such as

• Infants and premature babies with developmental risks

• Children with partial performance disorders or poor concentration

• Children with developmental delays in motor skills, speech or other areas

• Children with behavioral problems

• Children with mental or physical disabilities

• Children with integration difficulties in kindergarten

In order to provide these families with comprehensive advice and therapeutic support for the children, various professions such as psychology, remedial and social education, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are brought together under one roof on an interdisciplinary basis. The treatment sessions take place both at the SOS counseling center and at the children's homes or kindergartens. This saves parents having to travel long distances to different practices.

A large proportion of the families receiving support come from stressful situations and difficult constellations. For example, they are single parents, low earners, have mental health problems themselves or a migration background and experience of flight.
